I paid for it. I finished a year. I renewed.

That last part is the only reason I am writing this. Plenty of people review a program three weeks in. Almost nobody writes one after they have spent the money twice.

So here is what actually happened.

Quick context: I advise businesses on tax and structuring. Fifteen years in. Everything I built came through referrals. I am not a creator and never wanted to be one.

Why I Even Looked at Imperfect Labs

Referrals have a ceiling. Nobody tells you that when you start.

My best year came from six clients who all knew each other. When two of them moved cities, the pipeline thinned out fast. I had no way to reach anyone who did not already know somebody who knew me.

Meanwhile a guy I studied with had 40,000 followers talking about the same things I talk about. His clients arrived already convinced. Mine arrived needing a first meeting to establish I knew what I was doing.

That gap bothered me for about two years before I did anything about it.

I tried on my own first. Posted for three months. Got 260 followers and a lot of silence. Then I hired an agency at Rs 70,000 a month. They made content that was clean, correct, and sounded nothing like me. A client told me my Instagram felt like a different person. That was the end of that.

Someone in my network mentioned Shivansh Garg. I looked into Imperfect Labs for about a month before applying.

Who Is Shivansh Garg and Why Did I Trust Him

He is not a content guy who learned business. He is a business guy who reverse engineered content.

Before Imperfect Labs he ran growth at Uber and Aditya Birla. His job was acquiring millions of users for large products. He is a statistician by training.

In 2022 he posted fifty reels on his own account. Three months later he had 150,000 followers. No ads. He treated the algorithm like a product with incentives, not a mystery.

He then built Imperfect University into India's largest content school. Over 20,000 paid students. More than 40 million followers generated across that community.

Then in December 2024 he shut it down. Publicly. He wrote a long letter explaining that growing it further would stop serving the people inside it.

That is the part that made me apply. Closing something profitable and saying out loud why is not a normal move. It told me something about how the person makes decisions.

He rebuilt as Imperfect Labs with one program: 100x Engine.

What Is Actually Inside 100x Engine

I want to be specific here because this is the part every review skips.

What you get

What it actually means

Blue Ocean Strategy

Finding the angle in your field nobody has taken. Ongoing, not a one time call.

Happy Hour with Shivansh

18 sessions across the year. Show up, ask anything, grab a drink.

Weekly Viral Hour with Sanket

Every week. What is working on Instagram right now.

WhatsApp with your consultant

They message you first. You do not chase anyone.

Front Row Sessions

Live Q&As with people who have built things worth asking about.

The first thing that surprised me was the speed. I expected a setup phase. Instead I was recording video on day two.

Profile work, bio, audio, everything ran at the same time in the background. Nothing waited for anything else. Nobody said finish this before you start that.

I found this stressful for about ten days. Then I understood why they do it. You learn from your own bad footage faster than you learn from any lesson.

The Blue Ocean Thing I Completely Misunderstood

I thought this was one call at the start where you pick a niche.

It is not. It kept coming back all year.

Every few weeks Shivansh or someone from the team would ask a question that moved my positioning slightly. What is your audience actually responding to. Why did that one work. Is this still the right lane now that you have data.

My starting angle was tax planning for business owners. Generic. Everyone in my field says that.

Where I ended up was much narrower and much better. I will not spell it out because it is mine now. But I would never have found it alone, and I would not have found it in one session either.

The Viral Hour Sessions Are the Part I Underrated

Sanket runs a live session every week. He is behind over 1 billion organic views and Rs 25 crore in revenue across brands he has worked on.

I skipped the first three. Mistake.

The insights in these are genuinely game changing, and I do not use that phrase loosely. Some things I took away:

  • Content people share and content people save are not the same thing. Saves drive reach far longer. Almost everything I was making was built for sharing.
  • The first three seconds decide whether anything else in the video matters. I was spending my effort in the wrong place entirely.
  • Formats go stale in months, not years. A recorded course cannot tell you that. A live session can.

He also breaks down specific videos from that week and explains why they spread. Not as inspiration. As diagnosis.

What My Numbers Looked Like

Point in time

Followers

Start

620

Month 3

4,100

Month 6

11,700

Month 12

21,300

Month one was flat and I was not happy about it. I posted nine times and nothing crossed 2,000 views.

Month two something broke open. A video about a mistake I watch business owners make every single quarter crossed 41,000 views. Nothing I had made before had crossed 3,000.

The difference was not the topic. It was where I entered it. I had been explaining downward at people. Shivansh kept telling me in Happy Hour to start from the frustration and bring the expertise in later.

Simple in theory. Took me weeks to actually do it.
